BetterCare™ offers in-person ADHD assessments for children 7+ years old, these are performed by our senior clinical psychologists only. The quoted fee includes the entire assessment process and full diagnostic report. What it involves: Initial Screening: Parents or guardians complete an initial intake questionnaire to outline the child’s symptoms, developmental history, and areas of concern. This allows our psychologists to prepare for a more personalised assessment approach. Clinical tests & observations: Conducted in-person (Dublin), this clinical interview involves gathering data from both the child and their parents or guardians. It explores ADHD symptoms, school and social behaviour, family history, and how symptoms affect daily life. Data collected gets rated across several recognised psychometric scales. School input: We collect data from the child’s teachers to be combined with the clinical data. This provides valuable information on the child’s behaviour and attention levels in the school setting, contributing to a well-rounded view of symptoms across different environments. Gold standard ADHD Testing: The assessment will include several internationally recognised ADHD rating scales and psychometric measurements completed by parents and the client (where possible) to further evaluate ADHD symptoms and related concerns. These scientific measures and scales help rate the symptom severity and identify other related issues that may impact the child’s functioning. Results & Recommendations: Data is meticulously gathered and analysed, with findings consolidated into a formal, detailed report. If an ADHD diagnosis is confirmed, we provide individualised recommendations, which may include behaviour therapy, school-based support strategies e.g. use of an SNA, family therapy, or, if necessary, an internal referral to our paediatric psychiatrist for a medication consultation. **All reports are recognised by all government/state bodies including HSE, Dept. of Education, Dept. Social Protection** Ongoing Support & Resources: Following assessment, families can receive resources tailored to their needs. We also offer post assessment interventions to support the child’s development and help them manage ADHD effectively at home and in school.
